Jack and Curry

Dearest readers, I’d like to thank all of you for being loyal visitors to The Lazy Blogger. 7000 over visitors in the past year, that’s about averagely 20 a day, which is satisfying. However, all good things have to come to an end, don’t they? I’ve decided not to continue blogging, for the time being, at least. I’ve seem to lost the inspiration and passion that I used to have.

For my final post, I’d like to share a dream I had.

Thank you once again for reading this blog.

There’s Jack, a fresh faced 18 year-old. His life was kinda messy. Having been into several short, unsuccessful relationships and just scored brilliantly in his exam, he’s enrolled into something he despises, and just got dumped by his girlfriend from the school across the street. Feeling depressed and unmotivated, he met this girl in his class, Curry.

Curry, she’s from somewhere far, and it’s her first time in the big city. She lost her mother to cancer at the age of 11, and being an orphan, had to live with her two aunts. She was currently seeing someone at that time, however.

Jack and Curry became closer as each day passes by, and to Jack, no one has ever made him feel in such a special way before. He vowed to be with Curry, and was determined to take this relationship seriously. Curry eventually left her current boyfriend for Jack.

Their relationship at the early stage was beyond phenomenal. To Curry, having lost the most important person in her life at such an early age, and lacking the love and attention of her parents, she truly cherished Jack and deeply loved him with all her heart. Touched by Jack’s love, tears flowed on their first night together. To Jack, she was the best thing that could ever happen. Being stuck in the depression he was in, Curry was a ray of light at the end of the tunnel, and she was the only person who could truly open up his heart.

However, their relationship wasn’t all plain sailing. Both Jack and Curry are fiery, stubborn creatures. Arguments got more and more frequent. Jack loved Curry with all his heart. But Jack wasn’t perfect. In fact, he was far from it. At times, he could be pretty immature, easily jealous, and his greatest flaw, his temper, proved to be the sharpest thorn in the relationship.

Despite being on the receiving end of Jack’s frequent temper and mood swings, Curry stood by him every single time. Deep in her heart, there’s more good than bad in Jack. She knew no one will ever love her more than Jack does. But she never stopped praying that Jack would change eventually. The numerous fights had taken a toll on her poor heart, and she had shed too many a tear in the relationship. But she still loved Jack like it was the first day they were together.

Jack, meanwhile was in a dilemma. He loved Curry, and his heart ached when he knows he’s hurting her. He’d tried countless of ways to change, but he found it so difficult. All he wanted was to make Curry happy.

Things took a turn for the worse when there was another guy in the picture. Lenny, was a like a dream come true. Rich, strikingly handsome and eligible, he had fallen for Curry. Immediately, Jack was crestfallen. How could he possible compete with Lenny? His confidence took a nosedive, and instead of fighting for Curry, his treatment towards her was getting worse.

Because of the way Jack is treating her, and due to Lenny’s persistent advances, Curry admitted to having a crush on Lenny. But she had never forgotten what Jack had done for her all these while, and her feelings towards Jack were still strong. In a teary confession to Jack, she confessed the ‘betrayal’ in her heart. After a heart moving apology, she told Jack that he was all there is in her heart, and that Jack is the only person she wants to be with, but she knows that fate was in Jack’s hands, not hers.

Jack thought about it long and hard. Being a sensitive person, he was hurt that Curry had some feelings towards Lenny. But he couldn’t bear the thought of not being with Curry. In an unprecedented move, he chose to remain with her. But the wounds from 2 months of heartache couldn’t heal so soon for Jack and Curry.

The obstacles didn’t end there. Being arguably the most popular and controversial couple in their institution, they caused huge uproar when Jack decided to challenge the efforts made by certain quarters to split them, and took his case to the principal. This had caused the staffroom to split into two sides. One that supported them and one that didn’t.

With already so much swirling around them, the people that Jack and Curry needed the most, turned against them. A scandal broke about Jack’s sex life with Curry and his other ‘misdemeanours’ with other girls. Apparently, one of Curry’s best friends had gotten jealous, and fabricated stories to try to split them up. In reality, the lies only served to make them stronger than ever.

School finally ended, and Jack and Curry relished their freedom. And during the free time they had, took up several part time jobs together. However, their future now remained uncertain. The thought of being separated brought a huge sense of insecurity and anxiety towards Curry. They were simply inseparable.

So, it was a huge relief that both of them manage to continue their tertiary education in the same city. However, it would be the first time that Jack and Curry would undertake something apart. From seeing each other almost every day, they now saw each other less and less frequently. Being busy with their respective classes didn’t help either. But it proved to be a blessing initially, as the arguments and fights decreased, and the lack of seeing each other made both Jack and Curry miss each other even more.

But it was the beginning of the end.

There was a guy in college, Andrew who was courting Curry. He had asked her out every day, and being new, Curry had not made many friends yet, so she agreed to it. Jack, of course, was unhappy about it but had hidden his unhappiness away from Curry. He didn’t want to let Curry think that he was a controlling, possessive boyfriend. He was devastated, but he had started thinking.

Jack loved Curry with all his heart, more than anything else in this world, and he’d do anything to make her happy. He knows that being alone in this world, he was all she had. There was excruciating pain when he thought about life without her. But that pain, couldn’t compare to the pain he feels when he continues to hurt her with their differences, with his mood swings, with his temper. He was frustrated that he could never give everything she needed. The breakup would be painful for Curry too, Jack knows. But he was sure, in the long run, Andrew could make her happier than he could ever do. He was sure, Curry would grow to love him. Jack wasn’t sure, though, that he would ever learn to love another again. But as long as he knows Curry will be happy, he’s willing to be unselfish.

And so, on the 30th of August 2007, on their 25th month together, Jack reluctantly left Curry. He’d rather take the suffering, and make sure that in the long run, Curry would be happy, even if it meant that he wouldn’t.

Oh Sheeeeeena

So, yet another one flies off to the land down under. This time its An-nuurazafira Rasherrinna. Her parents regretted naming such a long name, they called her Sheena instead. Hehe. Kidding. But we do call her Sheena, sometimes.

We were in the same class in Sem 1, and we got closer as the semester progressed. I was thrilled and grateful she was willing to help me out at FCUK in February, and despite a few 'mishaps', you carried on because you felt you had to keep your word, which you did, even willing to work morning shifts alone. You were a good 'junior promoter', despite coming for work late often, taking extra break during Valentines, demanding for chocolates and croissants from your senior promoter (me). =)

You were my only friend who bothered to celebrate my 21st

Although I think you ate most of the cake.

I won't get to go to your 4-storey mansion no more..

This is you, working hard and trying to impress me, your senior, at FCUK

At your 20th Birthday

I'll miss studying with you. I'll miss working with you, scolding you for coming to work late, peeping you while you change in the fitting room, teasing you about Arsenal and their most good-looking players, Adebayor and Sagna.

I'm sorry I couldn't attend your farewell gathering, I was busy getting you souvenirs from Redang, Hehe.

So, good luck, take care of yourself in Australia, study hard, and wake up early in the mornings!

Ex Tag

Some random tag . What would you say if your ex asks you these questions?

Why did you let me go?
Because you might not have realised at that time, but you've found someone better

I still love you.
You've just made my day

Will you go out with me?
Sure, why not?

Hey, can i give/ask you for a ride?
Sure, why not?

I cannot keep my promise to you.
It's okay

My friends say we don't look good together.
They're obviously blind

You have changed.
So do you

Can we get back together?
Maybe, maybe not

Oh, I knew what this is all about. You found someone else.
I'm still single

Don't you realize? You are the one who hurt me!
In retrospect, I'll admit that

How can you forget our memories?
I never did

I will always love you.
You'll remain special too

I'll tag, people who has an ex and has yet to get a life. =)

It's time

This post will be in spurts.

I seriously need to upgrade my badminton skills, or risk being humiliated by Aaron & KG again. Haha.

We hadn't had a good workout together since futsal wayy back in 2007. Badminton was at Bukit Kiara Country Club, where I was a member. Rest of the family still is la anyway.

Oh, Abigail joined in for lunch before that.

3 of us guys headed to Pyramid after a brief mamak at Hassan's. But here's the thing. We took an hour plus or so to shop for a gift, and spent 3 hours eating and gossiping. Sounds so un-guy-ish, right?

So we left Subway when they were about to close, and joined Xuan, Fish & Fei Fei for another mamak-ing session.

Reached home close to 1, and for the first time ever, my parents didn't wait up for me.

I consider that good news.

It's All Just Superficial

It's back again. I'm having THAT dream again on a night when the next day I..

sigh nvm.

The week has been pretty boring, with everyone scattered all over Malaysia (& Brunei)

At least I woke up of my slumber and had some activity going on. Bought a DVD to fill my time, one worth watching, to all Man Utd fans, (and even non-United fans too).

Jolene bought me coffee at the 100th Starbucks outlet in Malaysia (after I bought her dinner), the first time I've been to Starbucks in 2008 and it's been awhile. I missed going to Starbucks.
The place was pretty quiet though, and strangely enough, closes too early at 10.

Met up with Abigail, KG & Aaron, but I guess they're all busy with their lives too.

Bruneian, if you're reading this, come back and we'll go to MOS!!

What Happens In Redang, Stays In Redang?

WARNING : THIS IS A SUPER LONG POST

Credits to Aaron Loo for organising a wonderful , efficient and trouble free trip.
Credits to Xuan, Rain, Qian, and KG (aka Cecilia) for their cameras.
A combined 927 photos were taken. (a Guinness World Record for no. of photos taken in 3 days) So it was tough selecting only 90 to post here.

I guess when going on a trip with a group of friends, it is important to put the group first before any individual. Despite a small conflict which greatly disappointed me, it was quickly settled before it threatened to get worse.

Significantly, compared to Langkawi and Genting before this, this Redang trip was refreshingly relaxing. So much happened. So much was spilled so much so, that it was difficult even for me to digest so much vital information in just 3 days.

Day 0

9 of us, Aaron, Xuan, KG, SK, Qian, Yoon, Rain, Abigail, and Mun Teng (excluding me), gathered in Subang before taking KTM to the PUTRA station, where our bus terminal was situated. Our bus pushed of at 11pm, and the driver drove at great speed, and we arrived at Kuala Terengganu at 6am despite stopping for 2 long breaks.

Aaron was so excited about the trip even while eating

NATO!

Lifting Abigail
and Rain too, which left me with a sore back the next day

Apparently, SK thought he was as light as those 2 girls, and jumped on my back, pushing both of us down in the process, and stepped on my specs accidentally.

SK looking shocked as I showed him my broken specs

SK still looking shocked

Not knowing what to do, SK pleaded for frustration in order to pay reduced compensation. Lol

And so I was partially blinded for the rest of the trip, depending only on my minimally powered shades. I appreciate those who were nice enough to guide me through :)

Dinner time

Searching for blue sand. It's really blue!

Day 2

Unfortunately, due to the alcohol reaction and my bad back, I decided it was best not to take part in the following day's snorkeling activities.

Kai, our snorkeling instructor cum beach party performer

Unfortunately I had to miss this too :(

The ferry came at 12pm,
and so,

It's goodbye Redang

We reached KT at 2.30pm, and our flight home is at 9.10pm, so we had time to kill. Not exactly exciting when you're in KT.

Don't be fooled, we're not in Saudi Arabia or something
This is the only McD in Terengganu

Aaron's so hungry, he ate a burger and an ice cream at the same time

Touring the whole of KT is possible by foot
Goes to show how small and sleepy KT is

Chinatown

A temple in Terengganu!

KG ('Cecilia') told us the lamest anti-climatic non-joke-sounding joke I've ever heard. It goes..

Ah Ming : Abu, where have you been all this while?
Abu : UK
Ah Ming : Wah, United Kingdom?
Abu : No, Ulu Kelang

Guess the reaction. Is it..

Reaction A

Reaction B

-___-

The flight back was only 45 mins. Anti-climatic. Haha. Considering our 8 hour bus ride. All in all, Redang was great great fun!

Looking forward to the next trip!

p.s. Back home, my mom told me some robbers with parangs was shot dead by police 10 metres away from my house. Sigh, back to reality....
