But they don't know anything about me

Here's some of the common myths I heard about myself all the time, and its time I clarified them all.

Myth #1
He’s seeing someone special / Pursuing someone special / Likes someone special

Fact
This seems to be a popular question lately, having been asked a thousand times in the past week alone. The fact is, I’m not. I’m officially single and available. True, I might have been going out occasionally, but the official status is I’m single, available, and happy. I’ve not committed and have no intentions to commit anytime soon. As for my future “special someone”, my guess is as good as yours, it could even be you.

Myth #2
He only likes slim, hot, flawless chicks

Fact
It may sound cliché-ish, but nobody’s perfect. And truth to be told, physical attraction is what it is, attraction. First impression. It is only when you truly understand someone for a period of time, true feelings grow, regardless of how he/she looks like.

Myth #3
He flops his assignments/term tests on purpose, focusing on exams that matters only.

Fact
I’ve heard this in Form 5, Form 6, and now here when I’m doing my degree. It’s bullshit. I can’t flop on purpose, I can’t answer a question wrong on purpose, I can’t. All I’m saying is I wouldn’t mind too much if I don’t score the highest grades for my assignments, so as long I do well in my finals.

Myth #4
He can’t speak a word of any Chinese dialect.

Fact
I used to able to speak fluent Hokkien, until I decided to abandon it when I was 8, due to certain reasons. I speak basic Cantonese only when absolutely required to. I can mutter a few Mandarin words but for the wrong pronunciations. I prefer English as it's simply the best way to express myself.

Myth #5
He’s a playboy

Fact
This makes me laugh the most. And the fact that I’ve heard it a million times throughout my life makes me laugh a million times. Frankly, I wished I was, but sadly, I do not possess the physical attributes to be one.

Myth #6
He has a temper of 2 nuclear bombs put together

Fact
That is partially false. My philosophy remains simple. I can’t start a fight or explode in temper in an empty room. Someone has to make me angry for that to happen right? I’m generally nice to people who are nice to me. Ask anyone.

Myth #7
While he was with his ex, he never really really really loved her

Fact
I know most readers knew me after I broke up, Myth #7 is bullshit, and probably the one that hurts most.

A Tribute to Ikan

I must say that I've never truly understood the character that engulfs Fish. Her seemingly conservative views contrasted mine to the extent that I even commented that we are from two worlds apart, and meeting each other was like a cultural shock to the both of us. I admit that I even doubted her intentions at times.

But Fish, today you demonstrated a side of you that not many people might see, by deviating from your usual conservative views, to undertake something grossly unethical, to help a friend, and yet donate your handsome reward to the cyclone victims in Myanmar.

Hats off to the Accounting Goddess, you certainly earned my respect.

NATO was in full force on Friday, lending out tremendous support to the Accounting Club's CPA Australia Student Charter Launch, which signals our intentions of taking over the club next semester. Hehe..

Kings of Europe, once again

In what was certainly one of the most dramatic finals in recent memory, the Champions League final was watched at the comfort of my living room for once, instead of Asia Cafe. I was joined by my fellow Mancunian, Kien Giap, and many thanks to SK and Aaron for joining in, despite being Arsenal fans, you displayed true passion for friendship and football =).

The match unfolded at 2.45am Malaysia time

As the beers started flowing, Cristiano Ronaldo headed in the opening goal, dispelling critics that he disappears in the biggest matches. And if he doesn't win the FIFA World Player of the Year award, I'll be damned. In truth, United had by far the greater chances, and could have been 3-0 up. What a waste.

Chelsea scored an absolute fluke, but in fairness, they hit the woodwork twice in the 2nd half, and 1-1 at the end of 90 mins was justified.

Penalty shootouts was nerve wrecking, and when Terry strode to take his penalty, I was all prepared to be heartbroken, but the sight of him missing, was one to remember, undescribable relief flushed through me. Phewwww.

Of course, the momentum was with United by then, and when Van der Sar saved Anelka's penalty,

United are Kings of Europe once again!!

Tun Dr Mahathir

Tun, throughout my life, you have been an iconic figure, one that embodies a true leader. True, you might have many detractors, but what you did for the country was undeniable. True, you might be an Ultra Malay in your earlier days and a corrupted bastard, but we all are Malaysians, and we all know how Malaysians work. Your charisma, courage to stand up for what you believe, has won my approval. Certainly, the opportunity to dine with you at a function, was one of the highlights of my very dull form 6 life. It has to be said, that your UMNO resignation came as a surprise to nobody.

However, dear Tun, what you have become today, shows how fickle the human race can be.

1. Kepimpinan Dato Seri Abdullah jelas membawa kekalahan dan bencana kepada Barisan Nasional, UMNO, MCA, MIC, Gerakan dan PPP.

Don't tell me you had no cronies? And your children (with the exception of Marina) did excellently without your influence?


4. Ketakutan yang Abdullah semaikan dalam diri Menteri-Menterinya, ahli Majlis Tertinggi UMNO dan kepimpinan UMNO yang lain begitu hebat sekali sehinggakan tiada yang sanggup berdiri mempertahankan saya ataupun untuk mempertikaikan apa yang Abdullah dan rakan-rakannya kata

5. Banyak juga perkara yang tidak popular yang dilakukan Dato Seri Abdullah yang telah menyisihkan ahli serta pengundi UMNO dan Barisan Nasional secara umumnya. Jika ada sesiapa yang patut dipersalahkan kerana prestasi buruk UMNO dan Barisan Nasional, dianya adalah Dato Seri Abdullah sendiri. Ini adalah pendapat majoriti kebanyakan rakyat Malaysia. Jika mereka diberi kebebasan bercakap, inilah yang akan mereka katakan.

It has become a general acceptance that Malaysian leaders will be forever corrupt, indulge in cronyism, nepotism, and abuse their powers. But as long as Malaysia is growing, I'm willing to close one eye. You cannot escape the fact that you had your misgivings during your tenure as PM.

Hello, all!

I know I've not been updating my blog for awhile now, so please forgive me for that. Rest assured, I'll be consistently blogging again, hopefully. Average hits are down by 10 per day, but dear readers, please don't give up on my blog!

This is The Lazy Blogger's 4th skin. It's a simple one, but it would be nice to experience a white background for a change.

Had a long weekend, 4 days off, which was welcomed, after 2 consecutive weeks of block lectures. Phew. But, the whole weekend was summed up in 6 alphabets; MA & DotA. Haha.

Drove all the way to Subang; had to liaise with Aaron on the MA assignment. Traffic on the federal highway was shit as usual, despite the fact that it's a public holiday.

I just realised I'm typing 2 sentences per paragraph. Haha. More updates when I'm in the mood, hopefully.

Break's over, back to MA assignment. Sigh..

We're gonna conquer Europe!

Manchester United is in the final again! Back to where they rightfully belong.

It was a pulsating match. Not too many clear cut chances, but the feeling, the roar, when the Asia Cafe erupts when Scholes scored, when the referee blew the final whistle after 6 minutes of nail biting stoppage time... it's good to be in the final.

Slept in the car again. Perfect way to cap a wonderful day, despite not really being productive, despite being whacked in CS and Chess again, quality time was spent.

To a Miss V, there are times when favours are granted when ASKED purely because the extra generous and helpful side of me (not boasting, its true, it does exist) shows itself. To continuously hound someone and then blast him for not granting the favour you ask just reflects your lack of dignity and humility.

And blaming the world cuz no one likes you?
